Stray Cat’s Prayer (Author Unknown)

Dear Goddess, please send me someone who’ll care !
I’m so tired of running and sick with despair.
My body is aching and filled with such pain;

And Dear Goddess I pray, as I run in the rain,
That someone will love me and give me a home,
A warm cozy bed, and food to call my own.

My last owner left me alone in the yard….
I watched them move and Goddess that was so hard.
So I waited a while, then went on my way,
To rummage in garbage and live as a stray.

But now,Goddess,I’m so tired, hungry and cold;
I’m so afraid I will never grow old.

They’ve chased me with sticks, and hit me with straps,
While I run in the streets looking for scraps!
I’m not really bad, Goddess, please I beg of ye, help me if ye can,
For I have become a “Victim of man!”

I’m wormy Dear Goddess, and ridden with fleas;
And all that I want is a loving human to please!
If ye find one for me Goddess,I’ll try so hard to be good,
I wont scratch the furniture,I’ll do as I should.

I promise to love them, play with them, and try to obey,
I will be so grateful if they let me stay!

I dont think I’ll make it too long on my own,
Cause I’m am so weak and so all alone.
Each night as I sleep in the bushes I cry,
Cause I’m so afraid, Goddess, that I will die.

I’ve got so much love and devotion to give,
That should I be given a new chance to live!
So Dear Goddess, please hear me, hear my prayer,
And send me that one human who will REALLY care.
